As a restaurant, our hearts warmed up to the Tofu Hut concept. There would be a chain in proximity of every McDonald’s where you could eat healthy, natural, seasonal and slow food.

[We say in proximity to every McDonald’s since this business model has been proven by a national coffeehaus chain that purposely locates near Starbucks. Remarkably, their name escapes us.]

As a restaurant name, The Tofu Hut was too close to Pizza Hut, and had a 1950s sensibility about it.

As an mp3 music aggregator site, The Tofu Hut is a brilliant name and stands head and shoulders above the hundreds of mp3 aggregator sites in terms of memorability. (And that, in and of itself, is a testament to the site – there are hundreds of mp3 aggregator sites and lots of great names out there.)

Even better, The Tofu Hut provides lots of music news – some it actually worth reading. And just recnetly, they aggregated most (I won’t say ALL), the mp3 aggregator sites.

Because there are so many of these sites, we suspect a search engine of these sites has to be in the works.
