Gingrich Favors e-Medical Records

November 8th, 2005 · No Comments

I don’t think I’ve posted on this previously, but I continue to be amazed as to how both sides of the political spectrum (it has two sides) are in agreement on electronic medical records and personal healthcare records. I don’t know where I saw (and I’m too lazy to look for) the article where The Newt and Hillary were getting all chummy about these technologies, but here is the latest on Newt Gingrich promoting EMRs.

I seem to remember Newt would like to see EMRs implemented by year end 2006. He also said he would like to see a “Travelocity model of drug purchasing” when illustrating the value of electronic records and consumer information.

I’ll do some investigating on Newt’s sites www.newt.org and www.healthtransformation.net and will report back.
